2025 Reads Highlight Reel

Books make the best companions. While I love curling up to read a physical book - especially when the cover is gorgeous, much of my reading is done by audiobook as I work-out, drive all over creation for my four children, cook, clean, and edit photos for my photography work. Since we're about halfway through 2025, here's a list of my five-star favorites so far.

This book had everything! The prose was stunning while never compromising pacing and character development. I adore books about sisters and clandestine societies and this one had it all and more!

My favorite 2025 pick to date. I felt like I was at the 1970s summer camp, I was with the characters, and while the suspense unveiled I relished the journey.

I admit, at first I was skeptical by the sheer number of POVs and trying to learn them. However, I was won over and went on such a fun journey through band life in the 70s. I also adore the twist at the end. The Amazon series was also a really fun watch.

The first half was slow for me, while I love interiority, this felt a bit heavy-handed. However, the groundwork really pays off in the second half when things pick up quickly. The ending was very rewarding and I also really loved the academia atmospheric elements.

This was a quick and fun read! I loved the locations and the way the author had me questioning everything with a very satisfying ending.

This book's journey was about complicated female friendships and felt so authentic as we untangled their past.

This book had me questioning everything! It was eery, complicated, beautiful, suspenseful, and atmospheric. I have no idea how the author wove all of these elements so seamlessly into her prose, but it is a masterpiece.

I don't read many memoirs, but this one was such an interesting journey through the decades as Katie Couric had a front-row seat to all of the historic events that unfolded during those years. I admire her moxie, determination, and positive attitude.

I'm not much of a "who-done-it" reader, but this book was so atmospheric with a protagonist who was easy to journey with.
