Let's Adventure to Ormond Beach
The big cities in Florida get a lot of hype, but I prefer those small towns full of history and their own flavor of local culture.
Let's start with my childhood home - Ormond Beach. Located on the eat coast of central Florida (south of St. Augustine, north of Daytona), Ormond Beach is a quaint seaside town offering an abundance of nature and small town charm.
I grew up exploring her expansive hammock canopy, marshes, and beaches. Living right off Ormond's scenic loop, when I packed my bag to run away from home that's where I envisioned living my life like the Boxcar children...free of parental restraints (spoiler alert: I didn't).
Ormond is an idyllic place to raise a family with plenty of outdoor adventures to be had.

Rose Villa - delicious cuisine in a fun historic Florida home. It even has a prohibition-style entry to the upstairs bar.

Historic Homes
My love affair with historic homes burns bright with this beauty. It is the historic Dix house, built for two sisters, Ruth and Eliza. The current owners maintain a pristine exterior to this stunning home.
Ormond Beach is where John D. Rockefeller built his winter home and lived out his final days. Below are two images of the home he built, which is now a community center.
Beaches
Ormond has a fabulous surf culture with our rising swells. Camps and competitions happen regularly, and though I don't know them, my friends have pointed out our local professional surfers who travel the world doing what they love.
